Your doula recertification should emphasize growth, connection, and collective responsibility, not a massive recertification fee.

Doula Training Recertification Requirements (Every 3 Years)
To maintain active certification and stay aligned with best practices, community-centered values, and current evidence-based care, all certified doulas are required to complete ONE of the following options:

1. Continuing Education (CEUs)

Complete 5 hours of approved continuing education in topics related to:

Perinatal health, lactation, postpartum recovery
-
Trauma-informed care, racial equity, or cultural healing
-
Advanced doula skills (comfort techniques, herbs, nutrition, etc.)

Accepted formats: online courses, webinars, workshops, conferences, or mentorship programs

2. Hands-On Practice or Documentation

Attend at least 3 births or support 3 postpartum clients within the recertification period

Submit a brief reflection or feedback form from the birthing person/family (can be anonymous)

Optional: submit a brief birth or postpartum narrative for review

3. Community Engagement
-
Participate in or lead at least TWO community-based events, support circles, or educational offerings
-
Examples: childbirth ed class, support group, maternal health advocacy, or breastfeeding event
-

4. Equity and Cultural Humility Reflection
-
Complete a 2-page written reflection on a book that is not listed in training on how you’ve deepened your understanding and practice of cultural humility, anti-racism, or reproductive justice in your work.​​
​
5. Recertification Application & Fee

Recertification fee ($25)

6. Optional Add-Ons for Recognition:​

Assist with a future IMPACT doula training or mentor our community circle to newer doulas
-
Advanced Doula Skills Badge: Submit proof of advanced certification (e.g., lactation, bereavement, massage)
