Mother with her Baby

Holistic care for the modern womb.

mind. body. baby.

A nurturing, culturally rooted approach that honors emotional, physical, and ancestral postpartum wellness for the new mother or caregiver.
OUR PILLARS OF SUPPORT
Plus size woman breastfeeding her infant. Mother with baby in hands standing and breastfee
  1. Presence over perfection.

  2. Compassion before correction.

  3. Listening louder than fixing.

  4. Every family, every story, every loss will be honored.

A postpartum doula is NOT a nanny, a housekeeper or healthcare professional. We hold the mother while she holds her baby.

Is certification immediate upon completion of the IMPACT training program?

It can be. Certification is always optional but to receive your certificate of completion, you have to complete the requirements for this training. With optimal time management you can receive your certification as early as days to weeks after training. If you are not able to complete the requirements within a one month time frame, that's okay. I understand LIFE HAPPENS!! Simply reach out and ask for a 30 day extension. Our doula training program offers immediate certification without birth attendance because we believe that well-trained, passionate doulas should be able to step into their vital roles without unnecessary delays. There is an opportunity to re-certify every three years with of CEUs, community engagement, reading and more.

FAQs

 Who is this training for?

This training is designed for aspiring postpartum doulas, current birth professionals, bodyworkers, therapists, caregivers, and anyone called to support families in the sacred window after birth. No prior experience is required — just an open heart and a willingness to learn.

What makes this training holistic and unique?

Our training is rooted in the Mind-Body-Baby™ Model of Care, which honors the full postpartum experience:

  • Mind – emotional presence, rest, and storytelling

  • Body – hands-on healing, massage, lactation, and herbal care

  • Baby – ancestral wisdom, ritual, and sacred transitions

This model brings together modern knowledge and cultural traditions to support deep healing — for both client and caregiver.

Will I be certified after this training?

Yes. Upon completion of all three days and participation in core activities, you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion as a Holistic Postpartum Doula trained in the Mind-Body-Babee™ Model of Care. This can support your path toward certification, employment, or starting your own doula business.

What hands-on skills will I learn?

You'll gain experience in:

  • Postpartum healing practices

  • Newborn care (diapering, feeding, bathing)

  • Safe handling of food and breast milk

  • Emotional support strategies & trauma-informed communication

  • Lactation & infant feeding basics and when to refer out

  • Setting up postpartum nests and healing environments

  • Loss and bereavement care

Is there reading or homework?

Yes — you’ll receive reading checklists, and reflective journaling prompts to support integration. These are designed to deepen your understanding between sessions and prepare you for real-life client work.

Will this training prepare me to support pregnancy or infant loss?

Absolutely. We educate on bereavement and loss basics, where you’ll learn how to walk beside grieving families as a companion with empathy, ritual, and confidence and when to refer out to care professionals beyond your scope. We honor all birth outcomes and include training on remembrance, comfort care, and trauma-informed presence.

What should I bring to the training?

We recommend:

  • A journal or notebook or electronic device

  • Water bottle, cozy socks, or small comfort item

  • Layered, comfortable clothing (we’ll be moving and working on the floor)
