Our Pillars of Support

Perinatal Health

"A mother is always the beginning. She is how things begin."

Doulas play a vital role in supporting perinatal health by providing continuous emotional, physical, and educational support to pregnant individuals and their families, pre-birth and beyond. This support can lead to improved maternal and infant outcomes, including reduced rates of cesarean births, pain medication use, and maternal anxiety and depression.

Our participants provide vital support withing the confines of their communities aiding to spread the knowlege with an "each one teach one" approach,

Evidence Informed Education

"If a doula were a drug, it would be unethical not to use it."

Doulas, who provide continuous support during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period, are increasingly recognized as an evidence-based practice for improving maternal and infant health outcomes.

Doula support has been linked to shorter labors, fewer interventions, reduced pain medication use, and higher rates of vaginal birth. They also play a crucial role in reducing maternal and infant morbidity and mortality, particularly for women at higher risk, and can contribute to greater maternal satisfaction and well-being.

Community

"We are not put on this earth for ourselves, but are placed here for each other."

Doulas and community support work together to improve maternal and child health outcomes by providing comprehensive, culturally sensitive support to birthing people and families. Our Doula training is client and community-centered encompass the ancestral wisdom of birth should not be be done alone and neither should mothering, It takes a village to raise a child and a mother.

Our participants often connect with other community resources, such as social service agencies and mental health services, to address the broader needs of families.

"I loved the one on one. It allowed me to build my own relationship with Jada and I believe that is important when learning from a mentor. The contents in Jada’s doula bag told me that I should be prepared for anything, however, she reminded me that I can also be support while using my bare hands and empathetic ways in my service to families. I was extremely satisfied. I feel as though it was a great start to my journey as a doula. I am equipped with tons of information that I can apply to my calling as a doula."
