Doing Birth Differently

The IMPACT gathering is a learning space that Emphasizes prenatal education through doula training and family parenting classes. We offer childbirth and breastfeeding classes led by Certified IMPACT Doulas. This training is for doulas who are ready to do birth differently—with confidence, clarity, and care that is grounded in both evidence-led education and community-rooted wisdom.
Our program centers doulas as leaders, educators, and advocates in birth and breastfeeding support. We go beyond checklists and protocols to explore how power, culture, bias, and lived experience shape perinatal care—and how doulas can skillfully support families within and beyond systems. This training focuses on:

Doula-Led, Community-Centered
Evidence-Led, Not Institution-Driven
Birth & Breastfeeding Are Taught Together
Liberation-Focused Care

This is more than a training.
It’s a call to practice differently, teach differently, and support families differently.

Our Pillars of Support
Perinatal Health
"A mother is always the beginning. She is how things begin."
- Amy Tan
Doulas play a vital role in supporting perinatal health by providing continuous emotional, physical, and educational support to pregnant individuals and their families, pre-birth and beyond. This support can lead to improved maternal and infant outcomes, including reduced rates of cesarean births, pain medication use, and maternal anxiety and depression.
Our participants provide vital support withing the confines of their communities aiding to spread the knowlege with an "each one teach one" approach,
Evidence Informed Education
"If a doula were a drug, it would be unethical not to use it."
- Dr. John H. Kennell
Doulas, who provide continuous support during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period, are increasingly recognized as an evidence-based practice for improving maternal and infant health outcomes.
Doula support has been linked to shorter labors, fewer interventions, reduced pain medication use, and higher rates of vaginal birth. They also play a crucial role in reducing maternal and infant morbidity and mortality, particularly for women at higher risk, and can contribute to greater maternal satisfaction and well-being.
Community
"The answer is community. The answer is always in the community! "

Doulas and community support work together to improve maternal and child health outcomes by providing comprehensive, culturally sensitive support to birthing people and families. Our Doula training is client and community-centered encompass the ancestral wisdom of birth should not be be done alone and neither should mothering, It takes a village to raise a child and a mother.
Our participants often connect with other community resources, such as social service agencies and mental health services, to address the broader needs of families.
